Camp Traditions & Activities
Flag Raising:
Every morning kicks off with one of our most cherished traditions—Flag Raising! We gather around the flagpole, singing and dancing to get energized for the day ahead. With endless renditions of “God Bless America” and camp favorites like Take Me Out to the Ball Game, Peanut Butter and Jelly, In a Cabin in the Wood, and From the East to the West, we start each day on a high note.
Music & Dance Parties:
Music is the heartbeat of New Day. From live bands and drum circles to lunchtime DJs and impromptu dance-offs, you’ll hear music echoing through camp all day long. Most nights end with a full-blown dance party—and every night ends with everyone arm-in-arm, singing Stand By Me under the stars.
Pool Time:
When the sun is shining, there’s no better place to be than in the pool. Whether it’s a giant pool volleyball match (yes, 20 vs 20 is real!) or counselors doubling as basketball hoops, pool time is all about relaxing, cooling off, and laughing together.
Skits:
Camp tradition meets camp silliness in our beloved skits. Whether you’re watching or performing, you’ll quickly learn that being goofy is not only welcomed—it’s encouraged!
Water Balloon Fights:
Because nothing says summer fun like a full-scale, camp-wide splash battle. Just be prepared—no one stays dry.
Talent & Award Shows:
A chance for everyone to shine! Sing, dance, joke, or catch a football—we love celebrating every unique talent. And yes, everyone walks away with an award.
Arts & Crafts:
We get hands-on—and sometimes messy—with creative projects everyone can enjoy. Whether it’s painting, gluing, or glittering, campers walk away with one-of-a-kind masterpieces (and maybe some paint on their hands).
Petting Zoos & Dog Shows:
Furry friends are always a hit at camp! We love welcoming special animal guests for a day of cuddles, smiles, and wagging tails.
Costume Fashion Shows:
At New Day, our costume closet is legendary. From superheroes to a particularly slick sun costume, we’ve got it all—and then some. Campers and counselors alike strut their stuff on the runway, showing off the most hilarious, creative, and over-the-top outfits we can find. Laughter is guaranteed, and confidence is celebrated!
Campfires:
S’mores. Singalongs. Storytelling. Campfires are where memories are made.
Dinner Theatre:
Each session includes a special dinner mystery night, where our kitchen serves a multi-course meal while our counselors become actors in a wild night of twists, turns, and wonderfully bad acting.
Movie Nights:
After a full day of excitement, we wind down indoors with a cozy movie night. Whether it’s a beloved classic, a new favorite, or our beloved end of the week New Day video, it’s the perfect chance to relax with friends.
